1993 – 89TH INTER PARLIAMENTARY UNION CONFERENCE COMMEMORATION

With the aim of fostering contacts, co-ordination and exchange of experience among Parliaments and Parliamentarians of all countries the IPU was established in the year 1889.

The 89^th conference of IPU, held at New Delhi from 12^th to 17^th April 1993. To commemorate this event, a 1 rupee coin was issued on 11^th April 1993.

Obv -- The obverse of this coin features the Parliament House in New Delhi, with the logo of the IPU below it. It also shows “1993” --  the year of issue, the legend “89^TH INTER PARLIAMENTARY UNION CONFERENCE” in English and “89 Wan Antar Sansadiya Sangha Sammelan” in Hindi.
